Location: Based in our Dalston office with flexibility to WFH
Reporting to: CFO
Salary: £65,000 per annum (pro-rated)

About the role
We are looking for a driven and capable HR professional with strong leadership skills, to provide the full range of operational and strategic HR to an employee group of approximately 40 people.
Reporting to the CFO and working closely with the CEO, this is a standalone HR role responsible for owning, coordinating, and implementing all operational HR activities associated with the employee lifecycle including but not limited to: recruitment, employee engagement, performance management, employee relations, communications, training and development and policy adherence matters.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the full recruitment cycle from: engaging with business leads, developing job descriptions, shortlisting, managing the interview process and leading the onboarding of new staff.
- Manage, update and administer all contractual documents to new and existing staff, as well as managing the leavers process.
- Ensure compliance with UK employment law.
- Review and update company employment and HR related policies.
- Provide HR guidance and help with the resolution of employee relations issues.
- HR administration, including managing and updating the Company's HR system (BrightHR).
- Oversee a culture of staff engagement and wellbeing; working with ExCo and SMT to lead improvement and ensure retention of staff.
- Manage staff attendance and promote wellbeing through training and internal initiatives.
- Support Business Heads in managing performance reviews and working with them to develop appropriate training and workforce planning.
- Build a team with a continuous improvement ethos to support the needs of a growing business.
- Regularly meet with, and provide regular reporting to ExCo, SMT and Line Managers.
- Manage, and active member of, the Company’s Remuneration & Staffing Committee.
- Work closely with the Compliance Lead to meet FCA SMCR requirements by ensuring new and existing employees are ‘fit and proper’, receive appropriate training, and undertaking regulatory referencing where required.
- Monitor and manage HR expenditure, ensuring that Fair Finance obtains best value for its processes and services.
- Responsible for Facilities, and Health, Safety and First Aid.
Skills and Experience
- CIPD qualified and a strong HR generalist with 8+ years in a HR Manager/Senior HR Manager role.
- Up-to-date knowledge of UK employment law.
- Experience operating in standalone roles.
- Strong leadership and analytical skills.
- Team player with a practical, hand-on approach and can-do attitude.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to influence at all levels.
- Demonstrate integrity and diligence in your methods and decisions.
- Experience of working in a start-up or a business that has gone through rapid change would be an advantage.
